FoxRadar Gen 3 — compact radar level sensor

Radar Sensing for Plastic and Fiberglass Containers

FoxRadar (Gen 3) is a radar-based level sensor designed for non-contact measurement through plastic and fiberglass tank walls. It is optimised for UCO (Used Cooking Oil) container fleets — enabling remote level visibility without product contact, supporting structured collection planning across distributed container operations.

Core Capabilities

  • Non-contact through-wall measurement — no opening required on plastic or fiberglass containers
  • Lightweight and compact for rapid deployment across large UCO collection fleets
  • Fast installation with screw mount or adhesive — no specialist or tank modification needed
  • Multi-network connectivity for distributed container operations across varied signal environments
  • Long battery life minimises field visits and keeps total running costs low

Where FoxRadar (Gen 3) Fits

  • UCO / Used Cooking Oil container fleets (lightweight plastic containers)
  • Plastic and fiberglass tanks where through-wall measurement is required
  • Distributed container operations requiring fast, simple installation
  • Sites where compact, lower-weight hardware is preferred over full industrial sensors

Industry applications: UCO

It complements FoxRadar (Gen 4) in scenarios where installation footprint or container construction makes Gen 3 the better operational fit.

Ideal Use Cases

  • UCO container fleets using plastic or fiberglass tanks
  • Distributed collection operations requiring fast installation without tank modification
  • Sites where compact, lightweight hardware is preferred over full industrial sensors

Deployment Requirements

  • Measurement range: 15–200 cm
  • Through-wall measurement for plastic and fiberglass only — not suitable for metal tank walls

When to Use a Different Sensor

FoxRadar (Gen 3) is not suitable for all tank types. Consider an alternative when:

  • Tank depth exceeds 200 cm (→ use FoxRadar Gen 4)
  • Tank material is metal — through-wall radar measurement is not possible
  • Tank geometry is complex or obstructed, requiring probe-based sensing (→ use FoxPressure Gen 4)
  • Industrial durability or a wider measurement range is required (→ use FoxRadar Gen 4)

Role Within the FoxInsights System

FoxRadar (Gen 3) provides level data as time-series input into the FoxInsights intelligence layer. Monitoring is the sensing layer. Forecasting and refill timing remain platform-layer capabilities.

Integrated with FoxPortal

  • Level data transmitted to FoxPortal for consumption-based planning across container fleets
  • Portfolio-wide visibility for distributed UCO collection operations
  • Structured collection planning based on live fill level data
