FoxPressure Gen 4 — hydrostatic pressure level sensor

Hydrostatic Monitoring for Demanding Tank Environments

FoxPressure (Gen 4) is a hydrostatic pressure-based level sensor for deep, narrow, or geometrically constrained tank installations. It is used where radar-based sensing cannot deliver stable, reliable readings — enabling accurate level data in tanks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to monitor.

It integrates into FoxPortal to support consumption-based forecasting, refill planning, and portfolio-wide visibility.

Core Capabilities

Measurement & Hardware

  • Hydrostatic pressure measurement (Drucksensor)
  • Accuracy: ±0.25% FS (typical)
  • Measurement range: 300 mbar (~3.5 m depth for heating oil / diesel)
  • Sensors: Pressure + GPS + Tilt
  • IP68 industrial protection
  • Operating temperature: −20°C to +50°C
  • Display: 1.5″ for fill level, signal & diagnostics

Connectivity & Power

  • Battery lifetime: >10 years at 1 measurement/day
  • Power source: 3× C Alkaline batteries (replaceable)
  • Connectivity: NB-IoT, LTE-M, 2G, WiFi, Bluetooth
  • Integrated eSIM

Where FoxPressure Gen 4 Fits

FoxPressure Gen 4 is the right choice when tank geometry or installation conditions prevent reliable radar measurement.

  • T-piece installations — radar produces erratic or incorrect readings in this configuration
  • Deep or narrow tanks where radar line-of-sight is not achievable
  • Tanks with internal cross-bracing, edges, or obstructions
  • Underground fuel storage with constrained or angled access
  • Heating oil tanks with complex internal geometry
  • Industrial fluid storage where mounting constraints prevent radar use

Industry applications: Heating Oil · Diesel · Lubricants

When to Use a Different Sensor

FoxPressure Gen 4 is not the default sensing option. Consider an alternative when:

  • Radar measurement is stable and feasible for the tank type (→ use FoxRadar Gen 4)
  • No suitable threaded opening exists for probe insertion
  • Installation constraints favour fully contactless measurement
  • The environment requires ATEX/IECEx certified hardware (→ use Pressure EX)

Role Within the FoxInsights System

  • Accurate level data from complex and constrained tank installations
  • Data transmission to FoxPortal for consumption analysis
  • Full inclusion of difficult tanks in consumption-based forecasting
  • Reliable planning input across all tank types — not just standard ones

Execution remains with your operations team.
